Health Promotion

Health Promotion

PDF promotes healthier communities by combining preventive care, outreach, and stronger health systems. Our programs address both communicable and non-communicable diseases — including HIV, trachoma, COVID-19, viral hepatitis, and reproductive, maternal, and child health (RMNCH).

We work through peer educators, Champions of Change networks, and community health workers to reach women, youth, and vulnerable groups. By integrating health promotion with WASH and child protection efforts, we support cleaner schools, safer households, and better child outcomes.

To build long-term resilience, we help upgrade health infrastructure and infection prevention systems. This includes improving WASH facilities in hospitals, training healthcare workers on infection prevention and control (IPC), and supporting emergency response during health crises. PDF aligns its work with District Health Management Teams and Ministry of Health strategies to strengthen referrals, data systems, and service quality.

Our model blends community ownership with proven best practices to create sustainable improvements in public health.
